Personalized Consultation
Immigration law is complex and requires a tremendous amount of knowledge and strategy. Every individual situation is different, and there are a variety of factors such as country of origin, timing, family composition, and criminal history that can impact the options available to you. Seeking immigration relief also involves risks that you need to fully understand. The purpose of my consultation is to get to know you, understand your goals, and develop a strategy to maximize your chance of success. I use the consultation to empower my clients by explaining the law, and providing a set of options so my clients can make the best decision for themselves and their families before moving forward.
-
Application
Unless you are already in removal proceedings, many immigration cases begin with filing an application with USCIS. Some require extensive research on the law and conditions in your home country to make the best possible case for relief. Under the current administration, filing a complete and accurate application is critical to avoid receiving requests for additional evidence, which could delay your process. I always strive to compile a thorough and comprehensive application for every client.
-
Interview Preparation
Immigration interviews require preparation. I assist clients in anticipating questions and practicing answers. In more complicated cases, I accompany clients as their legal representative to the immigration interview.
-
Hearing Representation
Proceedings before Immigration Court are intimidating and no one should go at it alone without an attorney in their corner. I file all necessary motions and advocate on my client’s behalf in Immigration Court on the day of their hearing. I prepare clients ahead of time to answer any potential questions that the Immigration Judge may ask in a manner that maximizes their chance of success.
-
Appeal
With years of experience in legal research and writing, including handling immigration appeals for the federal judiciary, I can assist you in making the best possible case for overturning your denial on appeal.
-
Federal Legislative Advocacy
Immigration laws are established at the federal level, within the U.S. Congress, and administered by federal agencies. Occasionally, seeking assistance from Congressional offices to influence federal agencies can expedite your application or resolve issues in your case. With extensive experience in the U.S. Congress, I can pinpoint scenarios where advocacy from your Congressional representative may be beneficial.
